Coordinated care is a top goal for health executives in 2011

28 January 2011

As 2011 kicks off, health executives plan to focus on how to accomplish coordinated care. Robert Fortini, chief clinical officer at the Bon Secours Medical Group and a participant of last year’s patient centered medical home forum held by the Medical Society of Virginia Foundation (MSVF), recently attended the eHealth Initiatives conference in Washington, D.C. and discussed the importance of medical homes in providing a uniform level of care in the health system.

Health executives also discussed making changes to things like delivery systems, reimbursement models and patient medication compliance in order to best achieve efficient and quality health care. These goals tie in with MSVF’s Together Obtaining Guidelines Optimization, Adherence and Lifestyles (TO GOAL)™ program, which allows primary care physicians to lead quality improvement and identify best practices in care within their own practices while completing necessary maintenance of certification requirements.
