DOC RxRelief surpasses $4 million and continues to grow
15 February 2011
The Medical Society of Virginia Foundation's (MSVF) medication assistance program, DOC RxRelief, keeps growing bigger and better. To date, it has served 936 patients and requested over $4 million in medications on their behalf since October 2007.
The DOC RxRelief program helps Virginians without prescription insurance get the medications they need for free. Using The Pharmacy Connection (TPC) software, DOC RxRelief Patient Advocates help patients and a referring practice navigate the often complicated process of applying to Patient Assistance Programs (PAPs). Once the applications and information are submitted, the pharmaceutical company sends the prescription to the patient or prescribing practice within eight to ten weeks. Available to Medical Society of Virginia (MSV) members, services are most used in the Richmond, Lynchburg and Hampton Roads regions. For more information, visit
