MSV Foundation hosts Educational Symposium

3 November 2008

The MSV Foundation would like to thank Optima Health for their support of the Educational Symposium at this year's Annual Meeting. Over 200 physicians, local society representatives and health system representatives attended. The program, "Evolving Models of Practice: Implications for Physicians and Patients" began with a very informative and well-received keynote presentation by David L. Katz, MD, JD, of the Advisory Board Company. Hard copies of Dr. Katz's presentation are available by contacting Ashley Cunningham at 804 | 377-1047.

Dr. Claudette Dalton provided a brief report, "The Changing Landscape of Competency". The symposium concluded with a panel presentation and discussion that featured Virginia physicians and an administrator who provided overviews of their practice models and discussed the benefits and drawbacks of each. The MSV Foundation thanks Dr. Randolph Gould, Ann Honeycutt, Dr. Matthew Johnson, Dr. Mitchell Miller, and Dr. Michael Valentine for participating in the panel.
