MSVF launches physician-driven quality optimization program

MSVF is pleased to announce the addition of TO GOAL to its compendium of programs. TO GOAL (Together Obtaining Guidelines Optimization, Adherence, and Lifestyles) is a collaboration between Virginia's family physicians and cardiologists as each specialty group strives to achieve optimization in the care of patients at risk for cardiovascular disease. Under the leadership of family physician Kurt Elward, MD, MPH, TO GOAL optimizes the American Board of Family Medicine's recertification process by implementing a group process with individualized practice support while allowing for self-identification of opportunities for systems improvement and patient adherence. The program achieves its objectives by utilizing expert physician and clinical faculty to guide physician participants in identifying best practices in care; developing achievable plans for integrating these practices into clinical care; and providing tools and technical assistance to sustain improvement in busy practice settings.

This program is supported, in part, by an unrestricted educational grant from Pfizer, Inc. and the educational support of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
