Physician groups join MSVF's medication access efforts

MSVF is pleased to announce that three new physician practices are participating in DOC RxRelief, the Foundation's medication assistance program. Complete Women's Care of Virginia Beach (with two locations serving Virginia Beach), Gastrointestinal Specialists, Inc. (with locations in Mechanicsville, Midlothian, Richmond and Tappahannock) and Virginia Cancer Institute (with locations in Chester, Mechanicsville and Richmond) will work with MSVF staff to help their patients without prescription insurance coverage gain access to more than 160 pharmaceutical manufacturer patient assistance programs. To date, this program is serving the patients of 76 Virginia physicians. Since late February, more than $60,000 in free medications have been requested on behalf of eligible patients. Thanks to the generous support of the Virginia Health Care Foundation and the Gwathmey Memorial Trust, MSVF is able to offer this program to Virginia's physicians and their patients at no cost.
