RxPartnership receives national award
25 March 2008
On Nov. 19, 2007, Rx Partnership (RxP), was awarded the $7,500 first runner-up prize (out of 343 applicants) for the national 2007 Peter F. Drucker Award for Nonprofit Innovation. The Award has been given annually since 1991 to recognize existing programs that have made a real difference in the lives of the people they serve.
Housed at the MSV headquarters in Richmond, RxP was created through a partnership between MSVF, the Virginia General Assembly, the Virginia Health Care Foundation and other premier health charities, to arrange for the distribution of free bulk prescription medication to free clinics and community health centers throughout Virginia. In three years, RxP has successfully arranged for the distribution of almost $15 million in prescription medications.
